IPS Arun Kumar Sarangi appointed Chairman of Odisha Public Service Commission

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: In a significant move, the Governor of Odisha has appointed Arun Kumar Sarangi, IPS, currently serving as the Special Director General of Police (Training) and Director of the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy, as the new Chairman of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

This appointment is made under the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 316 of the Constitution of India, in conjunction with Regulation 3 of the Odisha Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1952.

Sarangi's term as Chairman will last for six years, commencing from the date he assumes office, or until he reaches the age of sixty-two, whichever comes first. His conditions of service as Chairman will be governed by the provisions outlined in the Odisha Public Service Commission (Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1952, as amended periodically.
