Suspended police officials of Bharatpur to face polygraph testing in Army officer assault case

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: The Odisha Crime Branch on Friday filed a request with the Bhubaneswar SDJM Court to conduct polygraph tests on four suspended police officials from the Bharatpur police station. This action is in connection with their alleged roles in the custodial assault of an Army officer and his fiancée on September 15.

The court has already approved the polygraph test and brain mapping for the suspended IIC, Dinakrushna Mishra, who has agreed to undergo the tests. The Crime Branch plans to take Mishra to Gandhinagar, Gujarat, for the polygraph test, which will also include narco-analysis and brain fingerprinting.

Mishra, along with four other officers from the Bharatpur police station, was suspended due to the alleged brutal assault on the Army Captain and his fiancée, who had visited the station to report harassment from local troublemakers. The application for polygraph testing has now been submitted for the remaining suspended officers: SI Baishalini Panda, ASI Rakmayi Sahu, ASI Sagarika Rath, and Constable Balaram Hansda.
