Fraud accused impersonating PM's Principal Secretary’s family raided by I-T

Bhubaneswar, Jan 7: The Income Tax (I-T) Department conducted simultaneous raids on Tuesday at more than a dozen locations associated with Hansita Abhilipsa and Anil Mohanty in Odisha, Jharkhand, and New Delhi in connection with a high-profile fraud case.

According to initial reports, the raids targeted Hansita’s residence and office premises in Bhubaneswar. Officials were examining financial records and transactions as part of their investigation.

Hansita and Anil are accused of impersonating the daughter and son-in-law of the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary, P.K. Mishra, to defraud wealthy businessmen and mine operators of crores of rupees.

Sources indicated that Hansita’s recent acquisition of luxury vehicles without any loans raised suspicions of unaccounted wealth, prompting scrutiny by the I-T Department.

The duo has already been arrested by Bhubaneswar police for allegedly duping builders, mine operators, multinational corporation owners, and other businessmen.

Hansita is alleged to have deceived victims by claiming connections with prominent politicians and bureaucrats in Odisha. She, along with Anil, operated an office on Infocity-Nandankanan Road, where she promised to secure tenders for her targets by leveraging her purported high-level connections.

The case came to light after a mine owner filed a complaint, leading to the arrests of Hansita and Anil.
