Odisha to host 4th Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave in January 2025
Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: The 4th edition of the Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave, which serves as the state's premier global investors summit, is scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar on January 28-29, 2025. A delegation from the Odisha government will conduct an interactive session in New Delhi on October 3, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, as indicated in an invitation from Principal Secretary of Industries, Hemant Sharma.
The theme for the 2025 conclave, "Odisha as the Growth Engine of the Development Journey of the Country in the Next 25 Years," aligns with the vision of the Prime Minister of India. This initiative aims to attract both domestic and foreign investments, further contributing to the Atmanirbhar Bharat agenda.
The invitation highlights that with the Union and State governments strategically aligned, Odisha offers a uniquely conducive environment for central public sector undertakings seeking growth and expansion. The state is committed to fostering development through favorable policies and strong support systems, particularly in sectors vital to national interests. "We invite you to join us as a valued partner in transforming Odisha into a prime investment destination and an industrial hub in the east," the invite stated.
The inaugural Make in Odisha conclave took place in November 2016, leading to substantial investment proposals. During the third biennial conclave, held from November 30 to December 4, 2022, the state garnered investment proposals totaling ₹10.5 lakh crore, with potential employment for over 1 million people across various sectors. This edition also marked the launch of the Industrial Policy Resolutions 2022, aimed at positioning Odisha as a preferred destination for industrial enterprises, both nationally and internationally.
In August, the newly elected BJP government opted to continue the investment summit under the new name "Utkarsha Utkal."
