IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall for Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall across Odisha, forecasting significant downpours over the next two days.
With both orange and yellow alerts in effect, residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. The IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall (ranging from 7 to 20 cm) in various districts, starting August 25.
Orange alerts have been issued for the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, and Kendrapara for August 25, indicating that these areas should brace for intense rainfall.
On August 26, the orange alert will continue for Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar, with the expectation of ongoing heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Additionally, a yellow warning has been issued for several other districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Boudh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur on August 25, where moderate to heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is likely in isolated areas.
The yellow warning will also apply on August 26 to districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.
On August 27, the yellow warning will extend to Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar with expectations of continued heavy rainfall.
