ED raids former Odisha Congress President Niranjan Patnaik's residence
Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid on the residence of senior Congress leader and former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik in Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, on Saturday morning.
A team of 8 to 10 ED officials arrived at Patnaik's home around 7 AM to initiate the search operation. To ensure security during the raid, personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) were stationed outside the residence.
The raid is reportedly connected to ongoing investigations into alleged illegal financial transactions, although the specific reasons for the operation remain unclear. Sources indicate that the ED is looking into Patnaik's potential involvement in these illicit financial dealings.
In addition to searching Patnaik’s home, the ED officials also targeted two other locations linked to him. As of now, neither Patnaik nor his representatives have released any official statements regarding the raid, leaving many questions unanswered about the implications of this high-profile investigation.
