ED conducts raids in Odisha over alleged online gaming money laundering

Bhubaneswar, July 26: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Friday carried out a series of raids at multiple residences in the Bonai region of Odisha's Sundargarh district, investigating suspected money laundering linked to an online gaming app.

Preliminary reports indicate that the raids, which targeted at least six homes in Badgogua, were prompted by claims that substantial sums of money were received by individuals engaged in online gaming activities.

A specialized team of approximately 40 ED officials, dispatched from Kolkata and Bhubaneswar, is leading this operation to trace the alleged financial flows. During the raids, investigators are scrutinizing various documents, including bank account records, as part of their inquiry.

While the ED has yet to disclose specific details about the searches, officials have indicated that the investigation is ongoing and a comprehensive report will be available once the operation concludes.
