Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: In a significant move to fortify the healthcare infrastructure of the state, 2473 Medical Officers, including 2392 MBBS doctors and 81 Dental Surgeons, have been formally inducted into the state medical services. The induction was marked by an orientation program held today at Kalinga Stadium, graced by the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Addressing the newly recruited medical professionals, Chief Minister Patnaik emphasized the transformative vision for every sector and region of the state. He highlighted healthcare as a priority area under the 5T transformative initiative, stating that the objective is to ensure positive advancements in every individual's life.

Encouraging the new doctors, Patnaik urged them to contribute significantly to the healthcare drive by maintaining a humane approach along with professional excellence. He stressed the importance of creating a positive patient experience and reminded the medical professionals that their services are funded by the people of Odisha.

Welcoming the new entrants to the state's healthcare system, the Chief Minister acknowledged the sacrifices made by the families of the doctors. He reiterated the government's commitment to providing universal access to quality healthcare services, with a focus on 'Sustha Odisha, Sukhi Odisha.'

Patnaik shared the state's achievements in healthcare, including the establishment of new medical colleges and postgraduate institutes, resulting in an annual production of 2525 MBBS doctors and 856 specialists.

The Chief Minister distributed high-quality stethoscopes to the Medical Officers and dental kits to the Dental Surgeons, emphasizing the commitment to elevating healthcare standards. The recruitment process, conducted through a transparent, merit-based online counseling system, saw the newly appointed medical professionals being posted to various districts across the state.
