Dutee Chand escapes unhurt after truck collides with her BMW in Cuttack

Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: Renowned athlete Dutee Chand was involved in a road incident on Thursday evening when a truck collided with her BMW near OMP Square in Cuttack city. Thankfully, Dutee emerged unscathed from the accident, although her vehicle sustained considerable damage.

Reports indicate that Dutee was returning to Bhubaneswar from Jajpur, accompanied by a friend, when the collision occurred. In a remarkable display of courage, she pursued the fleeing truck and managed to halt it near Kathajori Bridge. Following the incident, Dutee contacted the Madhupatna Police, who promptly arrived at the scene and detained the truck driver for further questioning.

Dutee alleged that the truck driver not only crashed into her car but also verbally abused her during the encounter. “The driver was honking aggressively near OMP Square, and even after we made way for him, he deliberately rammed into my car before trying to escape. I chased him down to Kathajori Bridge and informed the police,” Dutee explained, emphasizing the recklessness of the truck driver’s actions.
