Detailed guidelines for Subhadra Yojana released by Odisha govt

Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: The Odisha government on Monday released comprehensive guidelines for the Subhadra Yojana, set to launch on September 17, aimed at empowering women across the state. According to the guidelines issued by the Women and Child Development department, women between the ages of 21 and 60 are eligible to apply for assistance under the scheme.
Eligibility is determined based on the date of birth listed on the Aadhaar card. For the fiscal year 2024-25, applicants must be at least 21 years old and under 60 by July 1, 2024, with their birthdates falling between July 2, 1964, and July 1, 2003.
The guidelines were provided following Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s announcement of preliminary directives for the scheme in the state Assembly.
Beneficiaries must be residents of Odisha. Exclusions apply to women who:
• Receive financial assistance of Rs 1,500 or more per month or Rs 18,000 or more per year from any other government scheme.
• Are or have been members of Parliament or the Legislative Assembly, income tax payers, elected officials in Panchayati Raj bodies or Urban Local Bodies (except ward members and councillors), or employees and pensioners of government enterprises and boards.
• Belong to families with irrigated or un-irrigated land of 5 acres or more.
• Own commercial or light vehicles, including four-wheelers.
• Have an annual income exceeding Rs 2.5 lakh.
To apply, women must have an Aadhaar card linked to their mobile number and a bank account that is both Aadhaar-enabled and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)-enabled.
