Bhubaneswar to celebrate culture and cuisine in Ekamra Utsav from January 5

Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is set to host the Ekamra Utsav from January 5 to January 16, 2025, coinciding with the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2025. This vibrant festival will feature a variety of events, including the Park Utsav, Food Festival, City Lighting, Flea Market, and Ekamra Walks.
The Food Festival at IDCO Exhibition Ground will run from January 5 to 16, showcasing a diverse array of cuisines, including Odia, North Indian, South Indian, and international dishes. Food trucks offering delicious meals will also be available.
From January 5 to 12, the Park Utsav will take place in five iconic parks: Madhusudan Park, Indira Gandhi Park, Buddha Park, Forest Park, and Abdul Kalam Park. The mornings will focus on health and wellness, with yoga, Zumba, and health talks from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM. Evenings from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM will feature cultural activities, storytelling, workshops, and live performances from local artists.
City lighting will enhance the visual appeal of Bhubaneswar, illuminating key streets and parks from January 5 to 16, creating a festive atmosphere for PBD 2025.
The Night Flea Market will be open daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, featuring stalls from emerging entrepreneurs and showcasing trendy clothing, handcrafted décor, and organic foods. Live performances by artists and workshops demonstrating traditional crafts will enrich the experience.
Ekamra Walks, which began on December 25, 2024, offer guided tours of Bhubaneswar’s heritage. Special trails from January 8 to 10 will allow the Indian diaspora to reconnect with their roots through storytelling and visits to historical sites, celebrating the city's cultural richness.
