Odisha CM leads successful visit to Singapore, boosting global investment prospects

Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: The Odisha delegation, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, concluded a successful visit to Singapore, marking a major step in positioning Odisha as a leading destination for global investments and industrial growth. The visit highlighted Odisha's growing importance as a key industrial hub in India's development trajectory.
During the visit, the delegation participated in various high-level meetings, including B2G and G2G discussions, an investment promotion roadshow, and site visits to major industrial and infrastructure hubs. These engagements paved the way for future collaborations across key sectors, strengthening Odisha’s industrial and economic outlook.
The final day of the visit featured an array of important activities, starting with a meeting with Marcus Lim, CEO of Ecosoftt, to discuss sustainable water solutions and their integration into Odisha’s urban and industrial sectors. The delegation also met with Rene Pill Pedersen from AP Moller Maersk Group to explore opportunities in ship-recycling, container manufacturing, and port-based industrial infrastructure development.
Further, the delegation visited Singapore's renowned Suntec City Convention & Exhibition Center, gaining insights into the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry, which Odisha plans to tap into as a future MICE destination. The delegation also explored the semiconductor sector with PEP Innovation Pvt Ltd, focusing on leveraging expertise for Odisha’s electronics and semiconductor industries.
Meetings were held with industry leaders from companies like Phan Bach, JERA, IHI Corporation, and Ace Gases, discussing investment prospects in equipment manufacturing, cold storage, green energy, and critical minerals.
The visit concluded with an interactive session with over 400 members of the Odia diaspora in Singapore. Chief Minister Majhi shared Odisha's vision for a globally connected future and extended invitations to major events in Odisha, including the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and the ‘Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’.
Reflecting on the visit, CM Majhi expressed satisfaction with the productive discussions and emphasized the importance of global collaboration for Odisha’s growth. Industry Minister Shri Sampad Chandra Swain highlighted the state's commitment to improving infrastructure and skill development for sustainable growth.
The visit successfully strengthened Odisha’s global outreach and set the stage for future partnerships and investments, with the ‘Make in Odisha Conclave’ positioned as a key platform for future business opportunities.
