Berhampur set for boost in connectivity with new Vande Bharat Express

Bhubaneswar, Sept 6: In a significant boost for Berhampur residents, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate a new Vande Bharat Express train on September 15. This will be the second Vande Bharat train serving Berhampur, also known as the Silk City of Odisha.

Sources indicate that PM Modi is set to launch three Vande Bharat trains, including routes from Tatanagar to Patna, Deogarh to Banaras, and Tatanagar to Brahmapur.

The Tatanagar-Brahmapur Vande Bharat Express will travel from Tatanagar to Brahmapur, passing through Rajkharsawan, Chaibasa, Dangwaposi, Banshpani, Kenujhargarh, Harischandrapur, Sukina Road, Jahkpura, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khurda Road.

Covering a distance of 586 km, the journey is expected to take between six to eight hours on this semi high-speed train. The Railway Board will soon release the official timetable for the new service.

The new train service is set to enhance connectivity and stimulate development in key regions. Scheduled to operate six days a week, this train will provide a faster travel option for commuters and represent a significant advancement in India's rail network expansion.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three new Vande Bharat Express trains, linking Meerut with Lucknow, Madurai with Bengaluru, and Chennai with Nagercoil.
