Another burglary in Bhubaneswar: Gold, cash worth Rs 40 lakh taken in Pahala

Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: Robberies targeting residential complexes in and around Bhubaneswar have become increasingly common. In a recent incident on Friday night, burglars stole gold, diamond, and silver jewelry, along with cash valued at over Rs 40 lakh, from a duplex in Pahala, on the outskirts of the city.

Reports indicate that four robbers entered a duplex in the Citi Homes complex in Tiranapada, Pahala, while the family was away attending a wedding function. The thieves ransacked the house, making off with valuable items. Although they damaged the CCTV system and took the cameras, Pahala police managed to retrieve footage from the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and have initiated an investigation.

This incident adds to a rising trend of robberies and thefts in Bhubaneswar, particularly in the city’s suburban areas such as Pahala, Chandaka, Airfield, Palasuni, Dhauli, Uttara Chhak, and Kalinga Nagar, which have been frequent targets for such crimes in recent months.
