SOA partners with Hydenmet Solutions to transform agriculture with precision farming

New Delhi, Oct 15: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bengaluru-based Hydenmet Solutions Private Limited on Tuesday, aimed at collaborating on programs that enhance agricultural knowledge and provide farmers with affordable precision farming solutions.

The primary goal of this partnership is to facilitate effective monitoring of crops from planting to harvest. By comparing real-time crop conditions with existing data, the collaboration seeks to offer accurate advice on managing water stress, nutritional needs, pests, diseases, and fungus attacks, ultimately maximizing yields and ensuring high-quality produce.

To achieve these objectives, both parties plan to develop research proposals and conduct outreach activities, including seminars and workshops, with clearly defined goals, methodologies, timelines, and financial plans. The MoU was signed by SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda and Hydenmet Solutions CEO Mr. Bhaskaran Rangarajan.

As part of the agreement, Hydenmet Solutions will set up an automatic weather station and other Internet of Things (IoT) sensors on SOA’s farm, implementing their Smart Technology-Based Agriculture Enabler (STAGE) platform for monitoring purposes. They will also provide technical support and facilitate trials at their manufacturing facilities.

Additionally, experts from Hydenmet Solutions will organize visits for SOA faculty and students to their manufacturing plants and assist in student training. Both organizations will collaborate to uplift the local farming community in partnership with Farmer Producers’ Organisations (FPOs). The signing event was coordinated by Ms. Girija Patel, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Hydenmet Solutions, with notable attendees including Mr. Jeevan Sangram Dash, COO of Hydenmet Solutions, and various faculty members from SOA.
