Reckless driving causes chaos in Bhubaneswar ahead of PM Modi’s visit

Bhubaneswar, Sept 16: Chaos prevailed on Janpath on Monday as several individuals engaged in reckless driving, creating severe disruptions for pedestrians and drivers alike. These miscreants sped through the city, obstructing traffic and even driving on sidewalks, posing significant dangers to others on the road.
A mobile phone video capturing the incident has gone viral, inciting public outrage and calls for stringent action against the offenders. The reckless behavior not only endangered lives but also led to near-accidents in the state capital.
In response, the Commissionerate Police initiated a suo motu case and launched a manhunt to apprehend the culprits and confiscate their vehicles. This incident occurs just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bhubaneswar for the launch of the Subhadra Yojana, PMAY, and Swachhata Hi Seva 2024.
Later in the day, police arrested five individuals involved in the incident and impounded two vehicles. The video reportedly shows Janpath Road, where the Prime Minister’s high-security convoy is expected to pass on the following day.
