Puri Jagannath Temple to implement queue system from January 20

Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: The much-awaited queue system at the Jagannath Temple in Puri is set to be implemented from January 20, as announced by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Tuesday.
Harichandan mentioned that preparations are currently underway to establish the queue system, which aims to provide a more organized and hassle-free darshan experience for devotees visiting the temple. This new initiative is designed to streamline the flow of pilgrims, ensuring a smoother experience for all.
The Law Minister also clarified that the implementation of the system, initially planned for the New Year, was delayed due to the overwhelming influx of devotees during that time. Additionally, he informed that the repair work of the Ratna Bhandar, which had been temporarily halted, will resume on January 17. The repair work is expected to be completed by March, followed by an inventory of the deities' ornaments.
However, Harichandan confirmed that no trial run will be conducted for the new queue system, which will be directly implemented to manage the large crowds and ensure a peaceful and organized darshan for all visitors.
