Cold wave likely to return to Odisha as night temperatures fall by 2-3°C

Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a drop in night temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius across Odisha after the next three days, as per their update on Tuesday.
In the past 24 hours, temperatures have risen across the state. Daringbadi in Kandhamal recorded the lowest temperature at 9.5°C, followed by G Udayagiri at 10.2°C, marking an increase of nearly 6 degrees over the past three days. Other areas like Semiliguda in Koraput registered 11.2°C, Phulbani at 11.5°C, and Rourkela at 11.7°C. G Udayagiri, which had recorded 7.2°C on Monday, 5.2°C on Sunday, and 4.8°C on Saturday, saw a noticeable rise.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack saw temperatures at 16.7°C and 15.5°C, respectively, after consistently recording temperatures around 13°C in the past few days. The cities recorded 13.4°C and 13.5°C on Monday, 13.2°C and 12.8°C on Sunday, and 13.6°C and 12.5°C on Saturday.
Additionally, the IMD has warned of dense fog in parts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Bhadrak districts until the morning of January 16. Shallow to moderate fog is also expected in Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, and Gajapati districts until January 17.
