PM Modi's Odisha visit: Bhubaneswar gears up for mega roadshow & security review

Bhubaneswar, June 17: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s highly anticipated visit to Odisha on June 20, a crucial high-level meeting was convened in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday to meticulously review and finalize security arrangements for his extensive tour.

Sources confirm that top officials from the Special Protection Group (SPG), Commissionerate Police, and Fire Service Department gathered at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Director's office to strategize the comprehensive security blueprint.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar on June 20 at 3:40 PM. Following a ceremonial welcome at the airport, he will lead a mega roadshow from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM, commencing from the airport and culminating at Janata Maidan. This significant event is part of the BJP government’s first-anniversary celebrations in the state, marking one year of the Mohan Majhi-led administration.

Post-meeting, senior officials, including Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, thoroughly inspected Janata Maidan to assess preparation readiness. Stringent security measures have been activated across the city, emphasizing public safety during the Prime Minister's visit. 

At Janata Maidan, PM Modi will participate in a mega public event until 5:30 PM, where he is also slated to unveil Odisha’s 'Vision Document' and launch several new development and welfare schemes for the state.
