PM Modi lays foundation for Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Jatni, Khordha, through a video conference. This initiative aims to enhance research and development in alternative medicine and promote holistic health practices.

During the event, PM Modi also inaugurated the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory in Gothapatna, Bhubaneswar, further bolstering healthcare infrastructure in the state. Notably, he announced the extension of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to cover all senior citizens aged 70 and above, providing them access to essential medical services. This initiative was celebrated during a special event in Delhi, marking a significant milestone in the government's commitment to elderly care.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was present at the Gothapatna inauguration, highlighting the importance of these developments for Odisha. Additionally, PM Modi unveiled a Critical Care Block in Bargarh district and a Super Speciality Block in the Government Medical College at Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.

Expressing satisfaction with the expansion of the Ayushman Yojana, PM Modi emphasized the scheme's universal applicability, stating that every elderly individual, regardless of income, will receive free hospital treatment with the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card. He assured citizens that this initiative would significantly reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, providing a safety net for families. However, he noted that the scheme has not yet been implemented in Delhi and West Bengal.
