Odisha to begin third phase disbursement of Subhadra Yojana on Nov 24

Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, announced on Saturday that the third phase of the first installment of Rs 5,000 under the Subhadra Yojana will be disbursed to more than 20 lakh women beneficiaries.
The funds will be credited directly to eligible women’s bank accounts during a ceremony in Sundargarh district on November 24, which will be attended by Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram, she informed the media after returning from her trip to the UK.
Parida also mentioned that all panchayat offices have been instructed to make the list of rejected applications public. "We also have a list of those whose bank details had issues. They will be included in the third phase," she added.
Approximately 2.67 lakh applications have been rejected for various reasons, according to reports.
Additionally, Parida confirmed that the fourth and final phase of the first installment will be released by the end of December, reaching over 1 crore women. She had earlier mentioned that the government plans to extend benefits to Anganwadi workers without government employee family members, and that the applications previously rejected will undergo a reassessment process.
The Women and Child Development department is expected to issue new guidelines for the Subhadra Yojana soon, with some adjustments. The state government has allocated Rs 55,825 crore for the program over the next five years.
