Odisha Revenue Department issues standing NOC for employees seeking career opportunities

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: The Odisha government has announced a Standing No Objection Certificate (NOC) in favor of all employees working under the administrative control of the Revenue and Disaster Management (DM) Department.

This new directive facilitates employees' participation in various recruitment examinations and applications for jobs elsewhere, streamlining a process that has often been cumbersome.

The Revenue and DM Department regularly receives numerous applications for NOCs, allowing employees to appear for examinations conducted by agencies such as UPSC, OPSC, SSB, OSSS, and OSSSC. The approval process has historically consumed valuable time for appointing authorities and caused frustration among applicants, who frequently visit offices to expedite their requests.

To mitigate these challenges, the government has introduced standing permission for employees, provided they meet specific conditions. Employees must fulfill their official duties and seek prior permission for leave when necessary.

The NOC does not relieve them from administrative control; any selected candidates must formally request approval to leave their current positions. The appointing authority retains the right to refuse release in the public interest or for other valid reasons. This initiative aims to enhance career opportunities for government employees while ensuring their responsibilities are maintained.
