Odisha CM extends best wishes to Bibharani Patra for Mount Elbrus ascent

Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: Internationally acclaimed mountaineer Bibharani Patra met with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today to receive his blessings for her upcoming expedition. Patra, who will embark on her climb of Mount Elbrus— the highest peak in Russia and Europe—on August 6, was also joined by Parliamentary Affairs and Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling during the meeting.
The Chief Minister welcomed Bibharani with a bouquet and extended his best wishes for a successful ascent. He praised her courage, noting that her achievement will serve as a great inspiration to the youth. "Your successful climb of the highest peaks in Europe and Russia will not only bring you personal accolades but will also honor our state," the Chief Minister stated.
Bibharani, a mountaineer from Meramundali near Talcher, previously scaled Mount Stock Kangri in Leh Ladakh in 2019 and Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa in 2023. In 2019, she was recognized as the Abu Dhabi International Youth Leader and has received numerous national and international awards for her accomplishments.
