Odisha CM continues people-centric governance through public grievance hearings

Bhubaneswar, May 19: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted his tenth public grievance hearing session on Monday in Bhubaneswar, reinforcing his commitment to directly engaging with citizens and addressing their concerns.

The session took place in a newly arranged chamber at Unit 2, where around 1,000 people had registered online to present their grievances. Starting early in the morning due to the hot and humid weather, the venue was well-equipped with seating, fans, coolers, drinking water, and toilet facilities to ensure the comfort of attendees and officials alike. Special arrangements were also made for divyang individuals to guarantee accessibility.

The General Administration Department coordinated comprehensive logistical support to facilitate smooth proceedings. Citizens who had registered their complaints online via the state government’s portal janasunani.odisha.gov.in or the Janasunani mobile app brought acknowledgment slips, identity proof, and written complaints to present their issues directly to the Chief Minister.

“In a people’s government, the highest priority is resolving citizens’ problems. Heard public grievances at the new Unit-2 grievance room in Bhubaneswar. Directed officials to take immediate steps for swift redressal in the interest of the complainants,” the CM posted on X.

This initiative underscores the Chief Minister’s dedication to visiting districts and personally hearing public grievances. Notably, on April 21, he held his first grievance hearing outside Bhubaneswar, in Sambalpur.
