Odisha approves Rs 5,992.92 crore investment surge across 26 key projects
Bhubaneswar, July 10: In a landmark decision during the 130th SLSWCA Meeting, Odisha's State Government, led by Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS, approved 26 diverse projects totaling ₹5,992.92 crores. These investments span key sectors including steel, chemicals, renewable energy, textiles, manufacturing, packaging, food processing, IT, infrastructure, and tourism. Spread across 14 districts, these projects are expected to generate 19,364 jobs, reinforcing Odisha's position as a prime investment destination.
The steel sector sees significant expansion with projects like GM Iron and Steel's ₹745.00 Crore investment in Mayurbhanj, creating 870 jobs, and Shree Ganesh Metaliks' ₹604.99 Crore expansion in Sundargarh, set to employ 3,239 individuals. The chemical sector also gains traction, with Eternis Fine Chemicals Ltd's ₹300.00 Crore unit in Ganjam creating 400 jobs.
In renewable energy, Envirocare Infrasolution's ₹351.00 Crore solar power plant in Boudh and Solisys Solar's ₹59.50 Crore module facility in Khurdha are expected to employ 60 and 120 people respectively. The textiles sector sees boosts from projects like Shree Hari Spinners' ₹129.68 Crore spinning mill in Sundargarh and Indian Stitches Pvt Ltd's ₹50.55 Crore garment unit in Khurdha, set to generate 700 and 1,028 jobs respectively.
Manufacturing and packaging sectors also witness substantial investments, enhancing industrial capabilities across Balasore, Koraput, and Cuttack. Notable among these are Rushil Decor Ltd's ₹504 Crore MDF unit in Koraput and KSV Packaging Industries Pvt Ltd's ₹53.51 Crore Tetrapak facility in Cuttack.
The comprehensive scope of these projects underscores Odisha's strategic focus on industrial growth, employment generation, and economic prosperity across the state.
