Odisha approves 15 major projects worth ₹3,353 crore to boost industrial growth

Bhubaneswar, Nov 8: The Government of Odisha has taken a major step towards driving industrial growth and employment in the state by approving 15 key projects, with a combined investment of ₹3,353.15 crore.
These approvals were granted during the 132nd State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting, led by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. The projects are expected to generate over 4,600 job opportunities, contributing significantly to the state's socio-economic development.
The approved projects span multiple high-impact sectors, including Chemical/Renewable Energy, Steel, Aluminium Downstream, Food Processing, Manufacturing, Textile & Apparel, Tourism, Pharmaceuticals, and Cement. These initiatives reflect Odisha’s ambition to diversify its industrial ecosystem and become a leading hub for industrial development. They will be implemented across several districts, including Koraput, Khordha, Baragarh, Puri, Cuttack, and Jharsuguda.
In the Chemical/Renewable Energy sector, Reliance Bio Energy Limited plans to invest ₹121.21 crore to set up a compressed bio-gas and organic manure plant in Puri, creating 69 jobs. The steel industry is set for a significant boost with Beekay Steel Industries Limited’s ₹750 crore investment in Cuttack, aimed at expanding production capacities and generating 800 jobs.
In the Downstream Aluminium sector, HM Power and Cables Pvt Ltd will invest ₹55.72 crore in Jharsuguda to establish a manufacturing plant for aluminium conductors, power cables, and wires, creating 205 jobs. Additionally, Nexthermal Asia Private Limited will set up a heating elements manufacturing unit in Khurdha, generating 132 jobs.
The Food Processing sector continues to grow, with investments totaling ₹1,542.04 crore from companies like Bhuvaneshwari Foods, Beverages Pvt Ltd, Aban Beverages, and others. These projects, located in Khurdha, Baragarh, and Cuttack, are expected to create 1,358 jobs.
In Textile & Apparel, Odisha Textile Manufacturing Pvt Ltd will establish a facility in Khurdha for recycling yarns from textile waste, creating 535 jobs. The Tourism sector will also see an influx of investment, with ITC Ltd expanding its "Welcomhotel" in Bhubaneswar with an investment of ₹119.14 crore, adding 240 jobs. Additionally, projects in Puri and Koraput by SJ JRG Ventures and LYFE Group of Hotels will create 380 jobs.
The Pharmaceutical sector will receive a boost with Infunex Healthcare Pvt. Ltd’s ₹59.43 crore investment to build a second manufacturing unit in Cuttack, creating 182 jobs. Finally, in the Cement sector, Ultra Tech Cement Ltd will expand its cement grinding unit in Cuttack with a ₹372 crore investment, generating 581 jobs.
These 15 projects represent a diverse range of sectors, signaling Odisha’s continued commitment to boosting industrial growth and providing employment opportunities, with a total investment of ₹3,353.15 crore and the creation of over 4,600 jobs.
