NAREDCO Mahi hosts empowering Bhubaneswar Meet to champion women in real estate

Bhubaneswar, May 7: NAREDCO MAHI, the women’s wing of the National Real Estate Development Council, in collaboration with the ICC National Women’s Entrepreneurship Council (INWEC), Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the MSME Development and Facilitation Office (DFO), Cuttack, successfully convened the Bhubaneswar Meet on the third day of the INWEC National Women Business Mela 2.0 at the Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneswar.

The event celebrated the rising influence of women in India’s real estate and entrepreneurial landscapes. Surama Padhy, Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, graced the gathering as Chief Guest. She was joined by esteemed Guests of Honour, Nitisha Mann, Deputy Director of MSME Odisha, and Sofia Firdous, MLA, Barabati Cuttack.

In her keynote address, Smita Dhanraj Patil, President of NAREDCO Mahi and Managing Director of SSPL Group, underscored the organization’s mission: “NAREDCO Mahi envisions a future where women lead the real estate sector. We aim to unite professionals nationwide, foster collaboration, and drive inclusive growth. Real estate shapes communities, and women must lead that transformation.”

Surama Padhy emphasized the vital role of women in sustainable urban development. “Women bring transparency, ethics, and empathy to the table,” she noted, calling for more leadership opportunities for women to shape India’s cities and communities.

Echoing the call for change, Sofia Firdous spoke passionately about challenging gender stereotypes. “Women are equally capable of managing projects and running businesses,” she said, urging bold action and stronger institutional support for women entrepreneurs.

Highlighting the power of solidarity, Ratnamala Swain, Vice President (East) of NAREDCO Mahi and Managing Director of DN Homes, remarked, “When women support women, magic happens. At Mahi, we stand strong together, for each other.”

The event also featured thought-provoking insights from Dr. Ananta S Raghuvanshi, Chairperson of NAREDCO Mahi, alongside key members including Priya Shah, Vice President (North), and Orpita Das, AVP (East), NAREDCO Mahi.
