Families of Pahalgam attack victims laud Operation Sindoor as justice delivered

Bhubaneswar, May 7: The families of victims from the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack have expressed deep emotions and a sense of justice following India’s precision military operation, Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Priyadarshini Acharya, the widow of Prasant Satpathy from Balasore, Odisha—one of the victims—spoke with a mix of grief and pride. She shared her hope that such strong military responses would deter future acts of terrorism. “My husband is gone, and nothing can bring him back. But I believe this action will help stop such tragic incidents from recurring,” she said.

Referring to the timing of the operation, she noted emotionally, “They took our loved ones on a Tuesday. We responded on a Tuesday. They questioned our faith with violence; we answered with courage.”

Recalling the fateful day, she said Prasant was killed while the family was alighting from a ropeway in Pahalgam. Expressing satisfaction with the government’s firm response, she added, “I was waiting for this day. The government has done the right thing.”

Priyadarshini urged the nation to support such actions until terrorism is fully eradicated.
