Monsoon brings seasonal caution as Odisha Covid cases touch seven

Bhubaneswar, May 31: With two new Covid-19 cases detected, the total number of active cases in Odisha has risen to seven. Despite the slight increase, the State Health Department has urged the public not to panic, assuring that the situation is well under control.
Health Secretary Aswathy S addressed the media and emphasized that the current Covid-19 variant in circulation is mild and not associated with severe symptoms. Citing the latest findings from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), she noted that most infected individuals are experiencing only minor symptoms and are expected to make a full recovery soon.
She further stated that all seven active patients are under medical supervision and receiving appropriate treatment. The state government is taking all necessary precautions to monitor the situation and prevent further spread.
The Health Secretary also advised the public to remain vigilant and prioritize personal health, especially as Odisha has entered the monsoon season. With changing weather patterns, the risk of seasonal illnesses is higher, making it important for people to maintain hygiene and follow basic preventive measures.
