Another key accused arrested in Bhubaneswar’s Sahadev Nayak murder case

Bhubaneswar, March 1: The Mancheswar police on Saturday arrested another prime suspect in the brutal murder of former police mitra and BMC sanitation supervisor Sahadev Nayak. The accused, identified as Susei Nayak alias Sushant, was apprehended from Kanpur in Cuttack after being on the run since the crime.
Sahadev Nayak was hacked to death in broad daylight on January 9 near Rasulgarh on NH-16 while returning home after dropping his daughter at school. The assailants, riding two motorcycles, intercepted him on a railway overbridge. One attacker struck him with a helmet, while another used a chopper, nearly decapitating him.
The murder, reportedly linked to a longstanding enmity, was allegedly orchestrated by Lipika Nayak, her husband Laxmidhar Nayak, and their associates. Sahadev had opposed their involvement in drug peddling, leading to conflicts. Lipika, previously arrested for brown sugar trade, allegedly planned the attack after being released from jail on January 5.
With Sushant’s arrest, police have now apprehended all key conspirators involved in the case.
