Koraput district bags PM’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration

Bhubaneswar, April 21: Koraput district of Odisha has been honoured with the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, 2024.

This coveted recognition was awarded under the category of ‘Holistic Development of Districts’, acknowledging Koraput's outstanding achievements in governance, inclusive development, and implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level.

The award was received by V. Keerthi Vasan, the Collector and District Magistrate of Koraput, from the Prime Minister of India during the Civil Services Day celebration held on April 21, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The district was selected for its innovative initiatives in areas such as healthcare, education, tribal welfare, livelihood promotion, and digital governance. Over the past year, Koraput has made significant progress in improving service delivery and uplifting vulnerable communities, making it a model of sustainable and inclusive growth.

The recognition has brought immense pride to Odisha and is expected to inspire further innovation and administrative excellence across the state and country.
