IMD forecasts visibility disruption due to dense fog in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: Dense fog is expected to blanket various regions of Odisha over the next three days, significantly affecting visibility, according to a statement from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.
While the state continues to experience chilly weather, the IMD forecasts an increase in nighttime temperatures over the next three days, followed by a subsequent decline. In a recent bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued a yellow alert for dense fog in several areas, including Koraput, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, and Sundargarh, over the next 24 hours.
Additionally, shallow to moderate fog is anticipated in certain areas of Jharsuguda, Puri, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, and Jajpur districts. On Sunday, dense fog may affect specific regions in Koraput, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, and Sundargarh.
By Monday, dense fog is expected to persist in these same districts. The weather agency also noted that nighttime temperatures could rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the coming days before potentially dropping by 2-3 degrees Celsius shortly after.
