IMD forecasts dense fog across Odisha as temperatures continue to rise

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that several regions in Odisha will experience dense fog over the next two days, coinciding with a steady rise in temperatures.

The temperature has been increasing across the state in recent days, and both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to continue to rise.

According to a weather bulletin from the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, dense fog is anticipated in districts such as Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, and Cuttack during the night of Friday and into Saturday morning. A yellow warning has been issued for these areas.

Additionally, a yellow warning for fog has been extended to several other districts, including Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, and Koraput for Saturday night and Sunday morning. The fog is expected to persist in various districts, including Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, and Cuttack, on Sunday night and Monday morning.

On Friday morning, dense fog had already enveloped multiple areas, leading to significantly reduced visibility and posing challenges for commuters. Affected districts included Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Puri, Jajpur, and Keonjhar, which resulted in delayed vehicular movement and required extra caution from drivers.
