VSSUT cracks down on campus misconduct with stringent disciplinary actions

Bhubaneswar, April 28: Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla, Odisha, has taken disciplinary action against approximately 100 students for various infractions, including misconduct, breaches of discipline, and poor attendance.

In response to complaints and reports of indiscipline, the University’s Disciplinary Committee reviewed each case and made recommendations, which were subsequently approved by the Vice-Chancellor.

Following this, the Registrar issued an official notification outlining the penalties for the students, which vary depending on the severity of their actions. Fines ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 have been levied, with some students also facing a reduction in academic grades.

In addition to financial penalties, the students will be prohibited from participating in university-sponsored sports events and competitions. They will also be ineligible for medals, academic awards, and other recognitions for excellence.

Disciplinary measures were tailored to the specifics of each case, with offenses ranging from disruptive behavior to habitual absenteeism and violations of university rules. University officials emphasized that the goal of these actions is both corrective and preventive, underscoring the importance of maintaining discipline and preserving the institution’s academic and cultural standards.
