Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: The second edition of the SUM Ultimate National Nutrition Orientation (SUNNO 2.0) program took place at Sum Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) on Saturday, focusing on the critical importance of nutrition and dietary management. The event featured nine esteemed speakers from across the country who addressed various topics related to clinical nutrition.

Dr. Swetapadma Dash, CEO of SUMUM, inaugurated the program and highlighted the theme, "Clinical Nutrition in Action," emphasizing the pivotal role nutrition plays in healing and recovery. She noted that identifying nutritional imbalances, particularly in critically ill patients, is essential for preventing complications and enhancing patient outcomes. Dr. Dash also underscored the immense potential for personalized nutrition plans and breakthrough research, advocating for ongoing clinical updates and research initiatives.

Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak, Founder President of SOA, echoed the importance of equipping healthcare professionals with up-to-date knowledge on nutrition to provide exceptional patient care. Brig. (Dr.) Biraj Mohan Mishra, Chief of Medical Services at SUMUM, praised the enthusiastic participation of dietetics professionals in Odisha and acknowledged the hospital’s dietetics team for their crucial support in patient treatment.

Dr. Srikant Kumar Dhar, Senior Consultant in Medicine and Academic Advisor of SUNNO, mentioned plans for updates covering all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics, focusing on specific organ systems to raise awareness and benefit society. Organising Secretary Sushri Sangeeta Jena revealed plans for a future international conference.

The event also featured notable speakers, including Dr. Alok Kanungo, Chairman and Managing Director of KIDS Hospital, Bhubaneswar, Dr. Radha Reddy Chadda, Lead Clinical Dietitian at AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad, and several other prominent figures in the field of medicine and nutrition.
