Subhadra Yojana: Third installment to be released on August 9; portal to reopen for new applications

Bhubaneswar, July 30: The Odisha government has announced that the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana will be disbursed on August 9, coinciding with the festival of Rakhi Purnima. On the same day, the Subhadra portal will reopen, enabling eligible women across the state to submit fresh applications for the scheme.

The Subhadra Yojana, a flagship initiative of the state government, aims to empower women by offering them financial assistance. However, around 2 lakh applications were recently rejected after verification showed that the applicants failed to meet eligibility criteria. Disqualified cases included women who filed income tax returns, bought vehicles, or owned five or more acres of land after receiving the first installment.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida stated that the government is committed to ensuring the benefits reach only genuine beneficiaries. A fresh verification drive will be launched after the August 9 payment to identify deserving women who were previously left out.

As part of this effort, door-to-door verification will be conducted. Those found eligible will receive financial assistance without delay.

Women aged 21 years and above can register on the portal (https://subhadra.odisha.gov.in/) once it reopens. Additionally, documents of nearly 93,000 women aged over 60 have been sent to the SSEPD Department for pension disbursement.
