Subhadra Yojana: 20 lakh women to receive financial assistance in third phase on Nov 24

Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: The Odisha government has announced that all Anganwadi workers will now be included as beneficiaries under its flagship Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida shared the update on Thursday in Bhubaneswar, confirming that these workers will receive financial assistance in the third phase of the scheme’s first installment, scheduled for disbursement on November 24.
This phase will see over 20 lakh women receiving funds during a special event in Sundargarh, bringing the total beneficiaries to approximately 60.27 lakh so far. Parida revealed that by December 2024, over one crore women are expected to benefit from the scheme, with document verification largely complete.
Addressing the issue of rejected applications, the Deputy CM stated that 2.67 lakh cases would be reviewed, and 5 lakh applicants with account mismatches who have resolved issues will also receive funds on November 24.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024, the Subhadra Yojana provides Rs. 10,000 annually to each beneficiary, split into two installments: one on Rakhi Purnima and the other on International Women’s Day.
