SOA alumnus secures 83rd rank in Odisha Civil Services exam

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: Saumyesh Acharya, an alumnus of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), has successfully cleared the 2022 Odisha Civil Services Examination. Acharya, who graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture in 2020, secured the 83rd position in the list of successful candidates.
In 2022, he completed his M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Visvavidyalaya, West Bengal, and also cleared the UGC NET in 2022 and ICAR NET in 2023. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension from Visva Bharati, West Bengal.
Acharya has been recognized for his research with the Ganga Singh Chauhan Memorial Award and has co-authored a book titled "Farmer Producer Organisation- The Neo Institutional Revolution in Indian Farming."
He was recently honored for his achievements by SOA Founder President, Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak, in a ceremony attended by SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, IAS Dean Prof. Santosh Kumar Rout, Dean (Students' Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, and senior professor Prof. Saroj Kumar Mohanty.
