Rs 21 lakh stolen from Hyderabad company recovered from Odisha village

Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: In a dramatic turn of events, over Rs 21 lakh, reportedly stolen from a company in Hyderabad, was recovered by Odisha police after being buried in the backyard of a house in Badamandurini village, located in the Jaleswar area of Balasore district.
The alleged thief, identified as Gopal Behera, had been employed at an agro-industry in Hyderabad for nearly ten years and is said to have stolen the money from a company locker after gaining knowledge of the secret code.
After the theft, Gopal is accused of giving the stolen cash to his brother-in-law, who took it to his parents in Jaleswar before returning to Hyderabad. Upon receiving a complaint from the company, Odisha police, along with a team from Hyderabad, launched a detailed investigation.
Following their efforts, the police unearthed bundles of cash buried under the ground at the location. While Gopal remains at large, his brother-in-law, Rabindra, has been taken into custody in Hyderabad. Officials confirmed that approximately Rs 15 lakh was recovered from the site.
