Prime Minister Modi questions declining health of Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar, May 29: Expressing apprehension regarding the reports concerning the declining health of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced his concerns on Wednesday. He stated that should the BJP secure governance in Odisha, an investigation will be initiated to determine whether there exists any conspiracy behind the Chief Minister's ailing health.

Addressing a BJP rally at Chhau ground of Baripada in Mayurbhanj, Modi questioned, "Is there a Conspiracy behind Naveen Babu’s deteriorating health? Is the lobby running Odisha in the name of Naveen Babu responsible for the poor health condition of the CM? People of Odisha have every right to know the truth."

Modi highlighted the public's worry regarding the CM's health, emphasizing the need to understand the reasons behind such a drastic decline within a year. He mentioned concerns expressed by those close to the CM, alleging his inability to function independently.

"Some people even suspect that there is a conspiracy behind the poor health condition of Naveen Babu. People of Odisha have the right to know if there is any conspiracy behind his deteriorating health," stated the Prime Minister.

In the event of BJP's victory in Odisha, Modi announced the formation of a special committee tasked with investigating the sudden deterioration of the Chief Minister's health, insisting that the mystery must be unveiled.

Criticizing the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government, Modi accused it of betraying the trust of the people over its 25-year tenure, alleging corruption and exploitation of resources.

Emphasizing accountability, Modi warned against sympathizing with those who betray the public's trust, cautioning that a return to power for BJD would result in further exploitation, particularly targeting tribal lands and mineral resources.
