Police raid busts sex racket at Bhubaneswar spa, two women rescued

Bhubaneswar, Oct 19: Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar on Saturday conducted a raid on a suspected sex racket operating out of a spa and salon near Rabi Talkies Square. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Badagada police station targeted a location identified as Diamond Salon and Spa, where they discovered the illicit activities taking place.

During the operation, authorities detained a young man believed to be connected to the racket and confiscated several items deemed incriminating. The two women rescued from the site have been sent for medical examinations to assess their well-being.

The incident came to light when local residents reported hearing a woman scream, raising concerns that she was being physically abused. Reports suggest that the women were initially lured with promises of employment but were later coerced into prostitution. It was also alleged that when one woman’s brother attempted to intervene, he was assaulted.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
