Odisha IPS officer DS Kutey appointed IG in BSF

Bhubaneswar, Dec 8: Dhirendra Sambhaji Kutey, a 1997-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Odisha cadre, has been deputed to a central posting. Kutey has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) in the Border Security Force (BSF). The official notification regarding his appointment was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on December 6, 2023.

In a letter addressed to Odisha Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, the Under Secretary to the Government of India conveyed the approval for Kutey’s new role. The letter stated, “The competent authority has approved the appointment of Shri Dhirendra Sambhaji Kutey, IPS (OD: 1997), as Inspector General (Level-14 in the Pay Matrix) in the Border Security Force (BSF). His tenure will be effective from the date he assumes charge and will continue until his superannuation on February 29, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

The letter also requested that Kutey be relieved immediately from his current duties in Odisha to allow him to assume his new responsibilities at the Centre.
