Odisha BJP set to begin state president election process, major organisational reshuffle likely

Bhubaneswar, June 28: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha is all set to begin the much-anticipated election process for the state president and national council members starting tomorrow. The process will continue for three days, with the party aiming to complete the organisational restructuring by July 1.
To ensure transparency and efficiency, Bihar MP Sanjay Jaiswal has been appointed as the central observer to oversee the election proceedings. Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi, who is also serving as the BJP state election officer, stated that the entire process would be conducted in a smooth and disciplined manner.
The selection of the new state BJP president has already witnessed a delay. The party had initially announced that the name would be declared before March 31, but that timeline was not met. Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, BJP's Odisha in-charge, recently reiterated that the national leadership will soon finalise the appointment.
Meanwhile, the party has also initiated the appointment process for chairpersons of various state-run boards and corporations, whose names are expected to be announced shortly. The upcoming changes are expected to trigger a significant reshuffle within the party, potentially affecting posts from the Mandal (block-level) president to the state president, signaling a major organisational overhaul.
