Odisha CM conducts aerial survey of Cyclone Dana-affected districts

Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted an aerial survey of cyclone-affected areas in Odisha on Sunday, accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The inspection covered multiple districts heavily impacted by Cyclone Dana, including Kendrapara, Balasore, and Bhadrak. These regions have faced significant damage, with large numbers of homes and infrastructure affected.
The aerial visit aimed to assess the extent of the damage and review the effectiveness of relief measures currently in place. Nearly 8.1 lakh residents have been evacuated to 6,210 relief centers, where they are receiving essential supplies, including food and shelter materials. The evacuation and relief response across Odisha have been widely acknowledged for preventing casualties, even in hard-hit zones.
The government has also begun distributing polythene sheets for those who have lost their homes. Plans are underway to provide long-term solutions to those in flood- and cyclone-prone regions, including phased efforts to construct durable housing.
