Odisha CM announces second Subhadra Yojana installment for March 2025

Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Wednesday that the second installment of financial aid under the Subhadra Yojana will be released in March 2025. This disbursement coincides with International Women’s Day.

According to the Chief Minister, over one crore women across the state will benefit from this phase, with the second installment being provided in a single payment. Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida had mentioned that the fourth phase of the first installment under the Subhadra Yojana is expected to be disbursed in January 2025, benefiting more than 20 lakh women.

The Subhadra Yojana, designed to provide financial empowerment to women, grants Rs 10,000 annually to beneficiaries in two installments. These payments are scheduled for Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day. Over a five-year period, beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 50,000 directly into their bank accounts.

In the first phase, Rs 5,000 was distributed to about 80 lakh beneficiaries in three stages. As of December 1, 2024, a total of 1,05,36,612 women have applied for the Subhadra Yojana.
