Odisha Government to launch mobile app for online revenue certificates

Bhubaneswar, March 7: The Odisha government is gearing up to introduce a mobile application to facilitate the online issuance of essential certificates from the Revenue Department, eliminating the need for people to visit Tehsil offices. The app is expected to launch in April, according to Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari.

The upcoming application will allow citizens to apply for vital documents such as caste, income, and residence certificates directly from their smartphones. Currently, applicants have to travel long distances and wait in queues at Tehsil offices, causing significant inconvenience. “With this initiative, people can apply for these certificates from their homes without the hassle of visiting government offices,” the Minister stated.

The app will record application details, including the date and purpose of issuance, ensuring transparency. The Revenue Department will establish a timeframe for certificate approvals, with Tehsildars responsible for uploading data regarding issued certificates.

Additionally, the state government will monitor service delivery through the app, allowing authorities to track delays in processing applications. Once approved, applicants can download their certificates digitally, eliminating the need for physical visits.

This digital transformation is expected to enhance efficiency, reduce bureaucratic delays, and improve accessibility, marking a significant step towards e-governance in Odisha.
