Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav calls time on career: Retires from all forms of cricket

New Delhi, June 3: On Monday, Indian all-rounder Kedar Jadhav made a significant announcement, declaring his retirement from all forms of cricket. Using social media as his platform, the 39-year-old shared a heartfelt slideshow featuring highlights from his career, set to the backdrop of the poignant melody "Zindagi Ke Safar Mein" by Kishore Kumar.

Expressing gratitude to his supporters, Jadhav captioned the video, "Thank you all for your love and support throughout my career from 1500 hrs. Consider me retired from all forms of cricket."

Jadhav's cricket journey began with his ODI debut for India on November 16, 2014, against Sri Lanka, followed by his introduction to T20I cricket against Zimbabwe on July 17, 2015. Throughout his career, the batting all-rounder contributed significantly, notably being a part of the 2019 World Cup squad. Across 73 ODIs, he amassed 1389 runs and claimed 27 wickets, while in the T20I format, he played 9 matches, scoring 122 runs with a highest score of 58.

Interestingly, Jadhav's retirement announcement bore similarities to that of former India skipper MS Dhoni's retirement note on Instagram. Dhoni's post featured a similar slideshow of career highlights, accompanied by the iconic Bollywood track "Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon," along with a caption stating, "Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 1929 hrs, consider me as Retired."
