IMD warns of rain and temperature drop across Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Dec 5: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Thursday that various regions in Odisha are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall over the next two days.
In a bulletin issued by the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, it was noted that the districts of Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, and Malkangiri may experience rainfall within the next 24 hours.
Additionally, shallow to moderate fog may develop in parts of Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Keonjhar during this period.
Similar weather patterns are anticipated on Sunday in the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Angul, and Gajapati. For Monday, light showers are predicted in Gajapati, Nayagarh, and Ganjam districts.
The IMD has not issued any weather warnings for the upcoming five days. Furthermore, the agency indicated that night temperatures across various parts of the state will begin to decline starting Saturday, with a potential decrease of 2-4 degrees Celsius over the following four days. The minimum temperatures are expected to remain stable for the next 24 hours before the drop occurs.
