IMD predicts night temperature decline in Odisha following continued rainfall

Bhubaneswar, Dec 26: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that night temperatures in Odisha are expected to decrease by 2-3 degrees Celsius after a couple more days of rainfall.
In their midday bulletin, IMD noted, "There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours. Following that, temperatures may dip by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next three days across the state."
By December 30, night temperatures in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack could fall below 15 degrees Celsius, possibly reaching as low as 13 degrees Celsius by New Year's Eve. Recent readings showed Bhubaneswar at 18.4 degrees Celsius and Cuttack at 16.6 degrees Celsius, while Koraput recorded the lowest temperature at 12.4 degrees Celsius. Following heavy rainfall in several districts, the intensity of rain is anticipated to gradually diminish over the next two days as the weather system over the Southwest and adjacent Westcentral Bay of Bengal weakens into a low-pressure area.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected to persist in various districts, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Boudh, Angul, and Dhenkanal on Thursday.
Additionally, shallow to moderate fog may develop in some areas of Keonjhar. On Friday, light rain is anticipated in select locations within Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur districts, with dry conditions expected to follow.
