First-year MBBS students allege harassment by seniors at SCB Medical College

Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: Allegations of ragging have emerged at SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCB MCH) in Cuttack, Odisha, following similar reports from Berhampur. First-year MBBS students have accused senior students, specifically final-year MBBS students, of harassment and mistreatment on the college campus.

In response to these complaints, college authorities have launched an investigation into the claims. The anti-ragging committee has visited the hostel to interview some students as part of their inquiry.

Concerned parents have also approached the college administration, expressing their worries about the treatment of junior students by their seniors. The timing of these allegations coincides with recent incidents at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where five students were expelled from the hostel and banned from the campus for six months due to ragging.
